公认为国内Web2.0网站做得非常之好的豆瓣因为有一块很大的图书分享板块引起许多图书馆人关注。我是豆瓣的用户，它的界面和速度都令我感到十分满意。可是一直疑惑豆瓣到底是怎样的一个网站。在我看来，豆瓣是一个用户分享娱乐休闲（图书、电影、音乐）的SNS。可是从这个角度来看，虽然豆粉众多，但是从我参加的几个群组来看，人气不是那么旺如果相比较一些论坛。游园师曾引用古诗一句描述各豆豆之间关系，“谈笑有鸿儒，往来无白丁”。我在想，的确用这句比较贴切。平时，我听音乐比较多。想找些好音乐，我会上豆瓣搜索一下，通常都能找到一些偏的鲜见的流行音乐。另外从影评来看，也隐藏着不少高手。从豆瓣的小组来看，比如“香港书虫”“心理学交流”“英文原版书友会”(小组人数前20)，豆友也有不少来自国外、中国香港和中国台湾。因此，目前豆瓣的用户还是有些“门槛”。大家都说豆瓣如此的亲切,我认为那是Web2.0特性所带来的。豆瓣仍有很多需要做的。目前我觉得它的最大优点就是整个网站的人性化，还有前面说的网页设计和速度。

LibraryThing前些天发布了新特性，About Books and Works（http://www.librarything.com/about_works.php）。简单地说，LibraryThing是按Works来聚合图书而非Books。具体区别Tim Spalding也阐述了。另外LibraryThing has works提及LibraryThing的新特性，还特别举例。我根据他文中的图书The Big Sleep分别到豆瓣中文英文版搜索，结果不尽如人意。就中文版来说，搜索结果数量为40，第一页有一半是不符合我所需，当然这是仅仅输入关键词的结果，不过豆瓣也只能这样搜索。

Books we like（http://bookswelike.net/bookswelike）与豆瓣非常相似，它另一个引起我注意的是，已经将图书馆链接嵌入到网站网页同时也有指向Amazon书评和Technorati的链接。

Amazon是我非常喜欢的网站，其“电子馆藏”可以看成为资源充沛的数字图书馆了。用户产生的各种内容书评、标签、listmania等等还有由用户行为产生的各种购买推荐，都为用户提供可靠丰富的购买和阅读意见。难怪乎不少国外读者都是先去Amazon获取资料后再去图书馆借书。

我觉得2.0图书馆建设都能从LibraryThing，BooksWeLike，Amazon得到不少启示，不仅仅是豆瓣。豆瓣的成功也正是源自于学习成功2.0网站。

撇开OPAC就从网站网页设计、资源导航和提供的服务来说，下面的图书馆网站是我至今为至看到最喜欢的三个。它们还有一个共同点，首页就一个页面，所有的资源服务都在其中，但安排得紧致清晰，这叫“麻雀虽小，五脏俱全”吧。

我很喜欢这个图书馆网站的导航。值得一提的是，学校图书馆提供的Tools，特别是RefWorks“我的学术论文数据库”。

这是今天看到的图书馆网站。它是第一个提供电影下载的图书馆。

密西根大学董事长Mary Sue Coleman女士近日受邀在美国出版商协会做了一次演讲，主要讲述了为什么该校会和Google合作，成为Google Print图书馆战略的合作伙伴。CNet.com有9分钟的视频资料。另外网上还能查找到她全篇演讲稿（PDF，可点击直接下载）。

Mary Sue Coleman演讲内容包括数字化图书的重要性和意义，密西根大学图书馆的概况。我认为最为核心的莫过于她解释密西根大学为什么会信任Google并与Google合作。

我将部分内容翻译如下，这部分演讲在视频资料中也有。

正是该项目的争议性促使我接受你们的邀请来此演讲并解释为什么我们相信这是合法、合乎道德的、崇高的行为并且这种行为会改变社会。

合法是因为我们相信版权法能使我们合理使用数以百万计的正被数字化的图书。

合乎道德是因为知识的储藏和保护对人类社会进步十分重要。

崇高是因为这项计划的提出适逢时机，符合未来趋势，对整个世界图书出版大有益处，所有人都能受益。

密西根大学培养了无数学生，他们致力于非凡的研究工作。我们代表着密西根大众、来自于世界其他国家地区的人民。我们体现出致力于成为杰出的大学，进行社会研究寻找答案、解决方案。

这些责任和义务足以使我，作为一名校董，意识到对于一个将使命定为创造、交流、保存和应用知识的大学来说，Google这项计划是绝好的契机。

It is this criticism of the project that prompted me to accept your invitation to speak —and explain why we believe this is a legal, ethical, and noble endeavor that will transform our society.

Legal because we believe copyright law allows us the fair use of millions of books that are being digitized. Ethical because the preservation and protection of knowledge is critically important to the betterment of humankind. And noble because this enterprise is right for the time, right for the future, right for the world of publishing, right for all of us.

The University of Michigan educates tens of thousands of students, and is home to faculty engaged in extraordinary work. We represent the citizens of Michigan and the citizens of the world. And we embody the aspirations of a society that looks to great public research universities for solutions, cures, and answers.

Those responsibilities and obligations make it abundantly clear to me, as president, that the Google project is a remarkable opportunity – and a natural evolution – for a university whose mission is to create, to communicate, to preserve and to apply knowledge.

This is, simply, what we do and why we exist.

说起来，我和罚款还非常有缘。主要是因为我借的书都没怎么看，倒是缴纳了不少罚款。通常是书从学校图书馆借来，没有看，有的甚至我特地上网续借，可还总是逾期。结果就是本科期间罚了近20元。后来下定决心为了不犯错，索性不借了。反正有网络。可惜的是，现在才学年过半，已经罚了8元多。同学打趣说，学校图书馆应该表彰我为图书馆创收。对我记性不好又懒的人来说，假使没有罚款就好了，可以省些钱。

Aaron Schmidt在文libraries and trust反问到罚款和还书日期的设立是不是因为我们不相信读者会归还图书,这样的假设公正嘛？我在想，是不是这样的呢，好像是！但从图书馆方面来讲，可以理直气壮地说要保证图书正常流通、已经有一次续借等等吧。

Booksfree提供的服务与公共图书馆一样，网站打出的标语就有No due dates or late fees;Keep each book as long as you want.也许有人会说，这样会乱套啦。看吧，它还说Return books and get more.相信这样的机制会一定程度上约束读者的行为。

我还是蛮向往这样的借书服务。

本月初，Stephen到多伦多大学做了Weblogs & Libraries:Communication,Conversation and the Blog People的演讲。其中大部分就讲解了他的这个调研。下面是演讲摘要：

正如John Blyberg在文中所说，图书馆技术开发能够让其他图书馆得益。我们看到从Library Lookup开始，SPL将其简化变成轻巧的插件实践于自己的图书馆，接着后面的图书馆相继改写使代码更适用于自身。本着2.0共享重用的精神，运用开发源代码为读者提供便利绝对不是难事。特别要学习的是这些优秀图书馆人的意识和行动力。
